It is considered as an easy climbing peak as per the Alpine Grading System although this can vary by a point or so depending on the snowfall situation. It lies in the beautiful Langtang valley north of Kathmandu. Climbing Yala peak does not require mountaineering experience. From Kathmandu we drive to Syabru Bensi, then trek begins up the valley for three days. We explore the Langshisa glacier en route to help us proper acclimatization, and establish a high camp at 4800 meters to make a bid for our summit. The peak cannot be climbed in its own right. It is often being used as a warm-up for Naya Kanga climb on the opposite side of the valley. The summit gives surprisingly amazing views of Shishapangma on Tibet side if good weather permits.
